Adult Musical Theatre
If you’re above 18 and interested in musical theatre, this is for you. Students will have the opportunity to explore movement, vocal technique and health, character analysis, truthful performance, and better understand musical theatre’s core elements. Participants in the workshop will get audition opportunities for our productions, and they are actively encouraged to be part of those productions. The adult musical theatre workshop is tailored to train students in how to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances so they can serve the vision and the story. During the workshop, students will work with a tutor to improve every aspect of their craft, such as movement, voice, and acting. They will also explore how character and script analysis, performing for consistency, taking direction, the story and truth, and using thoughts, emotions, voice, and body all combine to create a great performance. The course is a rollercoaster ride for everyone involved, and there are no eligibility criteria which means every adult can join.
Level 1 – Introduction to stage
This workshop is for budding actors, beginners, and anyone seeking to freshen up their stage skills. It covers the foundation and fundamentals of stage and provides space for those who want to learn the core techniques and elements of stagecraft. The workshop focuses on the acting process, and they participate in the performance techniques, which ensures that they have a basic understanding of the theatre which will serve them well as they further their theatrical journey. A participant in this workshop will explore improvisation, warm-ups, basic script work, individual presentation and scene work. You will also learn about body language, general orientation, and group dynamics.
Level 2 - Stagecraft studies
This workshop is for those who already have some basic knowledge and understanding of theatre. It is for the intermediate actors who want to learn and develop their skills further. This workshop explores the more in-depth topics in theatre, such as character development and script analysis. The workshop looks at the theatre in a more focused and analytical manner, and by the end, students who have a basic understanding of the common theatrical techniques. Participants in the workshop will get audition opportunities for our productions, and they are actively encouraged to be part of those productions. The stagecraft studies have several levels, and while you can start with any level you want, it is advisable to start with level one, which is the introductory workshop. Doing this will give you a better understanding of all the subsequent levels. It is for participants from 16 years and above.
